To tumbl or not to tumbl

Corvus Elrod recently tweeted about how he’s going to use his Tumblr account as a “public notepad”, which sounds just like what Tumblr is good for.

I’ve been having similar thoughts, because I’d like to have a place to put random, if well-chosen and thought-out “brain dropping” (doesn’t that sound appealing?) related to games, media, web, communities, philsophy, etc.

At the very least it will encourage me to write more, which is good for me. At the most, it could be an effective way to link together otherwise-random thoughts and reference some good little tidbits, like quick reflections on what I liked about a random Flash game I just played, for example.
